Hikikomori is a social phenomenon primarly recognized in Japan. The term refers to extreme social isolation of affected individuals. In this short animated movie you follow a protagonist who leads you through experience of being stuck in one of those vicious circle. While being stucked and locked in his own room, phantasies projected into the virtual world occupied by digital avatars seems like the only way how to escape. Or is it actually only an extension of this endless loop?
The movie express two different visual styles to distinguish between the protagonist´s perspective and the perspective of his digital alter-ego.
